Clear Your Mind
Here is my entry for Krystman's pico8 shmup jam. Had a blast learning from his tutorials, and had some really helpful feedback from the community - big shout out to Aktane, Imbord3rlin3, DerrEmm, and Achie72 for the help, any issues with the game are down to my ineptitude and not purposefully ignoring any recommendations!
Controls:
X = shoot (hold for autofire)
O = bomb
Notes/scoring:
Collect the falling books to shoot a 'knowledge bomb' - also cancels enemy bullets that they touch. Each bullet cancelled also gives you score!
4 books for an extra life (note: resets book count to zero)
With a full life count, 4 books = 5000 point bonus (note: also resets book count to zero)
5 waves with a final boss.

Thank u
It's a great shmup, challenging but relaxed and funny, very creative I love it
Thanks Clement! Really appreciate you giving it a look my friend.
Short and challenging yey I liked it!
Thanks for playing Hefka, cheers for the comment too!
Short and sweet, good job
Thanks for playing, appreciate the positives!
Hey congratulations on your entry. I like the theme of this submission.
The difficulty curve feels a bit unbalanced or maybe its just for a more experienced player than I.
I can understand you feeling like that as I didn't really consider the balance too much. I knew it started out pretty tough and the final boss is perhaps too easy compared. I'll keep that in mind in any future shmups I create, I'll try and get more of a flow and curve down - thanks for the constructive feedback, very much appreciated!
I think the third wave felt easier than the first two.
Super proud of you for putting this out! I know the journey wasn't without it's bumps! Loving this games humor and story, plus smokin hot original tunes, things you won't find in too many entries ;)
Cheers Aktane - really appreciate all the feedback and support during the process (and well done on creating the most addictive pico8 game I've played too!)
